Directly west of the Old City is the area of San Pio, and below (west south west) zona Rudiae. These nice quiet roads don’t have much going on but are super close to both Porta Napoli & Porta Rudiae (the old gates to the city), and are therefore perfect neighbourhoods for staying in if you plan to mainly hang out in the old city. On the flip side you’re slightly further away from Piazza Mazzini / the new part of town, but then this is Lecce and you’re never actually that far away from anything.
